ABOUT US
Vaalwater Lodge and Bush Camp is situated on the Vaalwater Road, between Uniondale and the Baviaanskloof, a mere 2km from the main Baviaanskloof access road. Vaalwater is the last stop before entering or after leaving the Baviaanskloof and is well-located as a base for day trips into the Kloof.
The game to be seen includes springbuck, blesbuck, kudu, duiker, Zebra and klipspringer. Tortoises, baboons and blue apes are also to be seen as well as many other smaller creatures.
SERVICES
Vaalwater offers self-catering accommodation and is conveniently situated on the Vaalwater Road between Uniondale and the Baviaanskloof, a mere 2km from the main Baviaanskloof access road.
The farm tracks are also ideal for mountain bikes. Children will also enjoy the farm animals such as the ostriches, chickens, geese and ducks. The quiet peaceful surroundings make for exceptional evenings around the campfire.
The sound of the Karoo nightlife will entertain you whilst the clear skies offer breathtaking views of the stars. There is also a 4x4 track of about 10km with some challenging sections and is suitable for beginners and the experienced. For the hot summer days a renovated farm dam is the ideal place to splash and cool off.
The self catering guest cottages and the camp sites facilities lend themselves exceptionally well to gatherings for large groups.
Guests are free to walk the various trails along the river courses, to bird watch, or to go on guided game viewing drives making Vaalwater more than just an overnight stop.
Vaalwater has four self-catering units available:
Ons Huisie
Ons Huisie is an original farmhouse dating back to the early 1900 that has been renovated with three bedrooms, one double and two single, sleeping a maximum of six persons. The house is fully equipped for self-catering with a kitchen, an open plan living and dining area, a modern bathroom, a “stoep” or porch with a braai area and electricity.
Die Lang Huis
Die Lang Huis is ideal for tour groups. This renovated house dates back 180 years and consists of four separate bedrooms that open onto a long "stoep" or porch area. Each bedroom is equipped with two single beds and wash basin. Alongside the house is a commune kitchen with the original fireplace intact. To the front of the house is an entertainment area called The Lapa which is fenced off and has a big central fireplace ideal for braai and get together. Bathroom facilities are at the ablution block that is neat and private.
Die Voorste Huisies
Die Voorste Huisies are situated on the banks of the Olifants River overlooking the Vaalwater Puts where the Vaalwater fountain originates. Each of the Blue and the Green Voorste Huisies has an open plan bedroom/equipped kitchen with an on-suite bathroom, sleeping a maximum of three persons. These cute cottages are ideally suitable for smaller groups or couples who enjoy nature in solitude.

Vaalwater Bush Camp Accommodation
The facilities lend themselves exceptionally well to large groups. The camp has numerous large old pear trees offering ample shade. Vaalwater Bush camp offers accommodation on a number of large campsites.
The camp boasts a newly constructed modern ablution block with lots of hot water on tap. Each camping site has electricity. The quiet peaceful surroundings make for exceptional evenings around the campfire.
