My daughter had to repeat a grade and was having problems with her school work. She had a educational assessment done and once I received the results and recommendations, I immediately started with the necessary medications and counseling. This school accepted her to start in 2020 and claimed they could help her. This school is not a remedial school and the teachers are not trained to deal with children who have learning difficulties / ADHD and social and emotional issues. My daughter was bullied, I kept sending letters, whatsapps, and speaking with the teacher, however nothing was done about it. Teacher was not experienced to deal with social issues in the classroom. When I did go see the principal in November, I was told that my daughter is the problem and all the parents have complained about her. I was told I must find another school. Please note my daughter never received one demerit only merits, never a letter of complaint written to me of parents complaining, never got called into the office to discuss any issues and no proof of complaints or detention. I was also told that if I keep my child there that the Foundation HOD which would be her teacher would make it difficult for her. I asked if we could have a meeting with the teacher present as I felt this was unfair and there definitely was confusion here. The principal told me that she will not let me see the teacher as she did not want me to be rude to her. I spoke with my daughters psychologist and psychiatrist. The psychiatrist tried to phone a few times and even emailed the Principal and she did not bother to get in touch and explain or help with the situation. I had no choice to keep her there for 2021, as finding a school last minute is impossible, especially when your child has certain needs. The Foundation HOD is very rude, she shouted and scared not just my child. She called her out in front of the class belittling her. She got a demerit for pushing a child without any proof that this happened. She merely helped push a very difficult drawer closed, not push anybody. It happened in her class while she was present as well as the other students, and even my daughters friends said that they saw what happened and she did not push the student. Surely if they are very strict on "violence" as they refer to it, surely they would call both students to the office, and ask the students in the class if anyone saw what happened. This school emotionally abused my child and have made things even harder for me. Teachers should not be scaring kids and shouting at them, it is not acceptable. The principal does not respond to emails or deal with issues, she just asks people to leave with no investigation. Not a very good school with high turnover of children. My daughter had to repeat a grade and was having problems with her school work.
