ABOUT US

Smyth Printers was registered with the Master Printers Federation in 1946 by Mr J. Smyth. At this time Smyth

Printers was doing letterpress printing until it was bought by Mr. B.G. du Preez in 1986 who then brought through

lithographic printing. This process was much faster and the quality was far superior to that of letterpress. The

first multi colour machine was bought in 1996 which was an A2 Format 2 Colour press manufactured by Ryobi.

This machine has recently been upgraded to a Full colour A2+ Format Press. Along with our new press we also

upgraded our film imagesetter to a Computer-to-Plate imagesetter for more acurate printing and better quality.

In this system the Press and C.T.P system have been equipped with a CIP3 system as well which automatically

sets up the ink ducts for each job to be printed. The old hand labour machines have now been converted to fully

computerised equipment to deliver our customers better quality and faster turn around times.
