I paid for a police clearance certificate on Wednesday and the lady who helped me told me my clearance would definitely be there within 24 to 48 hours. The 48 hour period was up on Friday. I recieved no notice to pick up my clearance.
Saturday I went to fetch my clearance and was told the lady who deals with it is not there, I told them I need it and it was supposed to be done by Friday.
They said the lady will email it to me first thing Monday morning. This morning (Monday morning) I recieved no email from them. I went to postnet at approximately 16.45 to pick up my clearance. 144 hours had lapsed since I paid for my clearance.
I was then told that the lady who deals with it is not there (again). I asked for the lady's number to enquire why my clearance was. The lady who dealt with me told me she can't give the lady's number to me. She called her and told me the other lady said my clearance will arrive tomorrow morning (Tuesday) I asked what time because I have work responsibilities and I was told they don't know what time the certificate will be there. She said the lady will be in by 07.30 and I should come in then.
My main issue with this is not the fact that it takes long. My main issue is the fact that they BLATANTLY LIE TO PEOPLE and get them to use their services and pay for things by saying it will be there in a specified period and not deliver on the period.
If I was not falsely promised that I would have the clearance within 48 hours (as I expressed urgency), I would have approached an alternative company to do my clearance for me.
If they knew they would not deliver on time they should have called me on Friday (when it was due) and told me it's not ready yet so that I did not waste resources going there. They should then have called me Monday morning (when they promised to email me) and inform me that they still cannot send it to me. I had to waste resources going there twice and now they expect me to take time off work tomorrow and waste more resources to come there.
The fact that the woman who also deals with it is never there is also shocking to me.
I am so livid by the lack of communication, the lack of professionalism and the lack of consideration of people's time and responsibilities.Pathetic service at Postnet Metlife Plaza.
