Contacted Peters shuttle services to inquire about service to transport first year student to PE. I was advised for individual single trip it would cost R900, if it is shared it would be R400. I requested for a round trip, and it was confirmed to PE cost will be R900 as there was no other bookings that have been secured as yet, however a refund will be effected should other passengers be accommodated in the same vehicle. A trip from PE would cost 400 on the day returning. I was told to make a payment to secure the booking and to make an eft payment. The booking was made a week in advance, and at the time a single trip to PE was confirmed based on no other bookings were made. It was agreed that should the vehicle be shared a refund will be given in cash. It was also confirmed that I would receive a text 10 minutes ahead of time prior to the pick up, this did not happen the shuttle ran a few minutes late. The shuttle to PE was shared, however the cash refund was not applied. I did not foresee it been a problem as my understanding was the refund will be concluded on the return trip from PE. When my daughter arrived there was no one present to pick her up, instead she receives a call from an unknown number and person telling her he is on the way she must not leave with anyone, she must wait for him. When he arrived he requested payment from her. She advised the payment has already been made to Peter. Peter was contacted the following day to clarify what had happened. After much avoidance and excuses around the fact that a refund was due and that was no the agreement we work on a basis of trust we should have been informed there was another person assigned to pick her up, we got to the point of understanding. I was offered a "free trip" to PE or a refund of R400. I am not sure why the trip would be free after all I did pay in advance for it. I opted for the R400 refund even though I should be receiving a refund of R500 as the trip to PE was a shared trip. The agreement was to pay R400 for the return trip. I must admit this was not only disappointing experience, but also feel cheated. Clearly service, ethical business practice is lacking. To date I have had no feedback about the refund instead I am being forced to be dependent on the service from Peters Shuttle which has proven to be unreliable and unethical Whilst i understand things do not go as planned, one still needs to make good on promise.
