i have a Nexo jacket in very good condition but why is my inner protection pads breaking into pieces , that's very concerning as i ride a superbike and need those inners for protection. kindly get someone to contact me on : 081 4115621.

Hi. I bought bike boots. The type with plastic heels. The second time I used them the plastic cracked. Think the plastic got old or something. Boots are expensive but no use now. Is it repairable?

DEFECTIVE RACING GEAR

I would like to bring a situation under your attention that is deeply concerning regarding the quality of what is supposed to be a superior product. I hope that you would be so kind as to investigate the matter and revert back to me.

My husband bought a NEXO Stark Jacket on 2 August 2019 at CIT Accessory Division in Hatfield. Within a few days, I noticed that some of the lettering on one of the logos on the jacket arm looked like it was lifting. Not even a week after that, the “N” of NEXO came off and the next week or so the rest of the lettering started to come off one by one – also on the back of the jacket. It was quite evident that there was an adhesive problem and the seams of where the lettering came off, also looked suspect.

As I paid the money for my husband’s jacket, I was NOT impressed and he was obviously also not happy. We took the jacket back to CIT, who allegedly “took it to NEXO Sports SA Head Office” and here is the ‘head office’ reply:

“It looks like the lettering was ironed on by the client. The only solution for the problem is for NEXO to send new lettering to CIT, who in turn will get an external provider to iron the new lettering back on, after presumably removing the defective lettering.”

I can ASSURE you that no iron came even remotely close to this jacket!! In fact, it was very carefully placed on a hanger every single time it was not worn! Please correct me if I am wrong, but aren’t NEXO products supposed to be of a superior standard with a very good name of quality and endurance in South Africa? Do the defects in this jacket represent ‘quality and endurance’ to you? It most certainly does not to me.

It looks like, because my husband got a very good deal when he bought this jacket for R2600.00 on
2 August 2019, the matter is now being treated as trivial, which it is obviously not us! My husband bought a BRAND NEW jacket and as per the CPA, one’s expectations when buying a ‘new’ jacket is that it is a) actually a new product, b) not defective and c) in a condition that would render it aesthetically appealing for the customer since said customer bought the jacket brand new.

I attach photos of the poor quality of the lettering. I have many more photos should you require them, and of course, the actual proof on the jacket. The lettering came loose on the sides and on the back of the jacket. The other side of the jacket is also showing signs of defects. My husband had only worn the jacket for 8 weeks now. He is not a ‘biker’ so he uses his bike only about twice or three times a week. It is impossible for the jacket to be in this condition after not even 8 weeks. The product is certainly not supposed to last only a few months?

It is a very obvious to any reasonable person that the jacket is not representative of a new, quality product but a defective one. As such we respectfully request for the jacket to be replaced.

Please revert back to me or my husband as soon as possible.
