I have used Masterfell to remove some trees and learnt it doesn’t always end when you cut down a tree. I met Hannes on inspection to quote. I informed him that I wanted the trees removed because I want paving done. We agreed on quote given and made arrangements for removal to take place. I called Hannes the same day of removal told him that the service team had left the stump and that cutting down and removing the trees is only half of the job the remaining stump must be removed as I have the pavers coming. His response was that he would return the next morning with a solution that he has that will ferment/rot the stump. The next morning whilst busy cleaning and raking up remains of the trees left by his team, Hannes arrived and poured the solution into the stump. He left me with instructions on how to pour the solution until its finished. I did ask how long this process will take and he said not long as the solution will soften the stump and when the paver come they can remove the brittle stump. Based on this being his profession I thought he had the knowledge, experience to efficiently have this removed. When the paver arrived he said he can't understand how Hannes in his profession would opted to do this process. Pouring down the solution may ferment/rot the stump but doesn't guarantee that this process will work or not. Most importantly this process might take anywhere from months to years. Again I called Hannes and couldn't get hold of him. I sent him a chat with what the paver said, his response was "you can't come a month later and tell me this". I then told him based on this being his profession I thought he had the knowledge, experience, and equipment to efficiently have this removed and he knew I had pavers coming. I also told him the day of removal the team had left scratches on the wall from dragging branches through the entrance gate and didn't clean up properly which he should have notice before leaving the site. I asked him to come and refused to pay any additional fee as he had inconvenience me and the pavers. His response was that they are closed for the year and reopen the 14th Jan. I told him that I will put the pavers on hold until then. Come the new year I again sent a chat to confirm the 14th for removal of stump and he respond "We start 21st, will let you know then, still on holiday" I have used Masterfell to remove some trees and learnt it doesn’t always end when you cut down a tree. Not only were two HUGE chunks of the tree roots left in the ground - but we agreed before hand that the plants that were pulled out around the main tree would be replanted afterwards. The guys left them lying at the back of the garden, nothing was replanted and the garden was left in a huge mess. Branches were left lying over my vegetables and herbs and succulents and killed half of them. We ended up getting our gardener to come in and spend a couple hours replanting cleaning up all the mess, he hacked away at the roots with an axe, but they are just too big. I though the whole point of paying someone to do a service was that it would be done efficiently! Its been a week now, and despite y numerous messages to Hannes, and his assurances that it would be sorted, it still has not been... Read more »
