I had trouble with my Nissan Bakkie, something to do with the computer side of it. After Keytronics called me back and told me it was fixed, I arrived there and nothing whatsoever was done to it. I told them the part they said they put in, does not exist, but I still had to pay over R4000 for it. They couldn't even get it to start. After four more hours, Shane assured me it was now fixed. A day later, the same problem started again. I tried calling him and his business, but he never answers. The woman who answered the phone today, told me to f*** off and threw the phone down. Shane guaranteed his work for 6 months, even offered to personally come and tow me in if I had any more problems. Where is he now? This company is pure bull and I will never ever recommend anyone going there.
The problem was that my van cut out and would not restart during my journey from Gansbaai to Piet Retief.
On arrival at Keytronics they removed my Vans computer, this then disappeared and three days later after having to replace the distributor, the heat sensor and the map sensor, I was told that the vehicle was ready for collection.
On the 8th when we arrived to collect the vehicle I was given an account for R7400.00, this included R3400.00 for a 2nd hand computer. I requested my original computer and was told by Shane that it could not be found.
When we got the vehicle started, it was running very poorly and the engine oil was full on petrol, I informed them that I was not satisfied with the state of affairs, and I could not continue my journey with the van. I was told to drain the oil and refill with new oil and all will be OK.
To cut a very long story short, I left my van with my brother in PE as Keytronics closed for the festive season on the 9th December. We hired a vehicle to continue our journey to Piet Retief.
On the 9th January 2017 I tried to get the vehicle to Keytronics but it cut out on the highway in Cape Road, I called Shane, he arrived and replaced the distributor rotor, the vehicle started and I proceeded to his premises. On arrival he stated that my vehicle was fine and running, I indicated that it was not sounding to good and I again asked for my original computer box, he again said that he could not find it.
We left for Gansbaai and only got as far as Knysna, the vehicle cut out and would not restart, so much for the 2nd hand computer. I tried phoning Shane but he did not respond. we got a breakdown to move the vehicle to Mossel Bay, VW. After many attempts to get Shane involved to help repair my van that he agreed will have a 6 month guarantee, we failed to get it started. VW asked me to remove my vehicle, which I did and brought it home to Gansbaai.
Keytronics was a bad decision, and an unforgettable experience and their activities are suspect and should be investigated because a lot of business is going on with vehicle electronic dashboard clusters but very few customers are happy with real problem solving and repairs. So if you need your vehicle electronic speedo adjusted, R850.00 will do, but again, Keytronics can't help with much else. On the 5th of December 2016 Keytronics loaded my VW Microbus onto their breakdown load bed and took it to their premises at 40 Worraker Street, in Port Elizabeth.
