Good day. Ithala Nongoma branch has their own rules when it comes to customer service. On the 29th of June 2021 me and my sister we went to do a funeral claim. We provided documents that were required which is the death certificate,proof of address of the claimants, death certificate, ids and the form which is completed by the doctor. but the gentleman that was helping us requested the additional and unnecessary documents which was the letter from the traditionl leader and the letter from induna just to frustrate us. We went to induna and he took us to the traditional leader's court to apply for the second death certificate as requsted by the same gentleman at Ithala Nongoma. Then the traditional leader told us that there is no need to for completion of notice of death by the tradional leader because we have one already from the doctor, which make sense to me, I also asked Ithala Nongoma why do we have to get the notice of death by the traditional leader because the one completed by the doctor serves the same purpose, he told me that, thats how they do things in their branch. I asked for the branch manager to intervene and make sense of the additional documents, which was also useless because she decided to support her staff member then to provide the solution. We then proceeded with the funeral. To our surprise, we went to Newcastle branch where I live, they did not request all this unnecessary documents. My question, why are we getting different treatment from the same financial institution, if Newcastle could assist us and the payment was made to my sisters account within 48 hours, why Nongoma could not provide the same customer service?
