G.R. Smith Woodcraft & Clock Repairs is a family business and was founded by the late Gordon Smith, owner of The Clock Centre.

Gavin Smith, his son has since taken over the family business and is a man of exceptional service, whose quality of work in woodcraft exceeds all expectations. From custom furniture to solid wood manufacturing, anything you need crafted can be done.

Repairs and restoration to antique clocks

Woodcraft

• DVD and CD Cabinets

Cabinets are made to accommodate either CD's or DVD's only; or both. The layout of the display can be custom made to clients requirements. Standard units are also available. The cabinets are made from either stained Pine, or Blackwood. Cabinets feature a wooden framed, lockable glass door.

• Plasma Units

Plasma units are made to clients requirements. Some units feature a small CD & DVD rack, open or closed shelves, and/or lockable cupboard doors. Plasma units are made from solid wood Pine or Blackwood with hardboard backing.

• Bedroom

Bedside cabinets, chest of drawers, headboards, baby compactum etc.

Bedside cabinets are made to clients requirements. Some units units drawers only, some units feature one drawer, one cupboard, or some units feature open shelving.

Chest of drawers are made to clients requirements, bearing in mind the size restrictions such as the depth and width. The drawers have solid sides and bottoms, and pull out on full extension runners.

The finish and the handles can be specified by client.

• Kitchen

Products such as mobile kitchen trolleys, freestanding tables with basket racks.

• Dining

Products such as server units, high tables, wine racks and lazy suzy's.

• Study

Products such as desks and bookshelves.

• Bathroom

Products such as cabinets for basins.

• Custom Made Furniture

Mechanical Clock Services and Repairs

A clock is a mechanical device, it will need periodic maintenance otherwise it will not run properly. Clocks should be oiled and serviced every five years. Movements need to be overhauled after about 20 - 25 years. This includes disassembly, as well as polishing and cleaning the parts.

Gavin has over 30 years experience and offers guaranteed workmanship. Your clock does not leave his care unless he is satisfied.
