CANSA Relay for Life will be held at Fountains Mall in Jeffreys Bay at 18:30 on the 17th of March 2017.

The cancer association in Jeffreys Bay is calling all residents and businesses to participate in this year’s Relay for Life.

“Whether you lace up or pitch in, there are many ways to support Relay for Life,” says Selina van Deventer, ma-nager of CANSA in Jeffreys Bay. “Community members can become involved in this memorable event by actively taking part in the relay, recruiting and assembling teams, seeking community support, securing donated refreshments and prizes and lending their support in any way.

“We need all the support we can get to make CANSA’s Relay for Life for 2017 an unforgettable event. So, what are you waiting for? Enter your team of 10 to 15 walkers now; there are only a few weeks left before this worthy event takes over Fountains Mall.” According to Van Deventer, the local Relay for Life raises much-needed funds for Cansa’s services in Jeffreys Bay and surrounding areas.

“It is a fun, indoor fundraising event where teams take turns to walk around the track. If, for whatever reason, you are not able to stay the whole night, you are more than welcome to leave. Relay for Life gives participants a unique opportunity to contribute to CANSA’s mission of saving lives, by helping people stay well, by helping them get well, by helping finding cures and by fighting back.”

All the money raised during the event will be used for cancer research and to assist cancer patients in financial need. Lumenaria bags, in memory of a cancer survivor or those who have lost the battle against cancer, are available at R10 each. Prizes for the best dressed team, as well as for the team that generates the most funds will be up for grabs.

The different fun walk themes are funny hat, pyjamas, recycle, Cansa must fall, heroes, and school clothes.

The theme of the evening is men’s health.

The entry fee is R500 per team and can be paid into Cansa’s Absa bank account at account number 1157140058. The reference RFL 2017 JBay followed by your team’s name must be used.
