In September last year I went into hospital for a procedure. An this doctor was the anaesthetist. His secretary claimed to have emailed me a bill which I did not receive. She didn’t follow up to check whether the bill was received. She handed the bill over to collections. When I received the sms from the attorney. I had to call my own doctor to get the details of this doctor. So I can find out about this bill. Note I am on medical aid so have no reason to avoid paying. I told the receptionist this. When she emailed me the invoice my medical aid paid them immediately. But their collections are wanting their fees from me. Why must I pay this fee if his receptionist did not do her work properly. Note when a bill is issued , there is a process. You follow up to see if it was received. Then if not paid, a reminder is sent and time is set for payment. This is done before you hand over to collection. None of this was done. This bill was paid in full by medical aid. But I am not listed on itc for this secretary negligence. This doctor must pay the costs for collection. Because his secretary failed in her duties. This seems to be a pattern of this doctor.
