I have visited the Checkers Liquor Store on more than one occassion to purchase liquor for our Company Functions. On both occassions I had to deal with very unhelpfull staff and uninformed staff. They do not want to get up from their chairs to offer assistance. Previously my order was for approximately R6000, which I left on the floor due to staff not showing any interest in me as a client. Yesterday I tried to support them again and once again I was directed to the security guard at the door to attend to me. Firstly I could not reach the stock on the shelf and he was called to help me (while she remained sitting on her chair). Secondly I needed advise on wine, which they could not help me with. I then wanted some ciders and everybody was just looking at me - once again the security guard was called to assist me , but he indicated that he cannot leave the door to fetch things from the back. None the less, I spent R1900. They all seemed very irritated by the big order. Thirdly a "homeless man" entered the store looking for something. He approached the cashier (while I was now waiting for my ciders) to request a price. She got up from her chair, walked all the way to the shelf, collected the item, walked back to him and told him the price. Nothing wrong with that, but why could I not have the same treatment. At least get off your chair and "pretend" then to show some interest in me. I was hoping to do all my Corporate Function purchases at the Checkers Liquor Store, but I do not have time to wait for somebody to help me or wait for somebody to show some interest in me as a client. I did not have time to pay a visit to the Checkers Store Manager as I was time stricken due to my function starting at 14h00 and I was still in the Liquor Store at 13h10. I trust you will be bettering your service at the Liquor store and train the staff to be more client orientated. Surely the public/clients help to pay the salaries. Kind RegardsGood day
