Algoa Cares was started in 1997 with the aim to support local non-profit organisations with their mission to help and empower those in need, especially the most vulnerable within our community. We use the power of radio to increase awareness, influence positive change and inspire the development of our broadcast area. Algoa Cares has three focus areas namely: Health and Welfare, Education and Skills Development, and the Environment and Sustainability. The initiative highlights star projects that model sustainability.

I think the Nelson Mandela Bay community needs to address issues of racism and discrimination amongst black students living in Summerstrand from these old racist white community members who have enjoyed the full life span of Apartheid and the transition there after. Apartheid Was abolished more then 27 years ago. They need to wake up and realize that the beach is not entitled to them to fish and surf and for their children to enjoy alone.I will not feel uncomfortable or be told to leave an area of the beach that is secluded to white families and their children only.Ontop of that those officers who has the nerve to call the police to have me escorted from the beach have violated my constitutional rights.I demand that you as a community consider waking up to the realization. The white power and privilege died a very long time ago.And that men can not incite any form of power because of him being in possession of a fire arm.I wish he could threaten my livelihood again. If power belongs to those who can deny the right's of others and publicly humiliate them,we will never see the end of this.Hopefully someone can identify these men.Iambuz
